It is the nerve center par excellence of Madrid that represents Madrid's fame as an open and cosmopolitan place. It has been accumulating symbols over time: the clock that chimes on December 31, the statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, Kilometer Zero, the Tío Pepe neon sign, the statue of Carlos III.
