13- CaixaForum

CaixaForum is a cultural center managed by the "la Caixa" Foundation and located on Paseo del Prado in Madrid. The center is located in one of the few examples of industrial architecture in the historic center of the city, the old Central Eléctrica del Mediodía, from the beginning of the 20th century. The rehabilitation project was developed by the Swiss architects firm Herzog & de Meuron and the facility was inaugurated in 2008.

CaixaForum's activity focuses on temporary exhibitions, highlighting in recent years an agreement with the British Museum in London. The theme of the center's samples usually revolves around archaeology, art, design and photography. They are interspersed with exhibitions of a social nature. The center's program is completed with various film cycles, conferences and concerts. Part of its facilities are usually provided for external events by foundations, the media, associations, etc. It is the usual venue for the delivery of La Caixa Scholarships and the Night of the Economy.

The building has a cafeteria restaurant and free access shop. In 2018 it became the third most visited museum center in Madrid and the fourth in Spain with almost a million visitors.
