Valencia
diverted the Turia River to create a new riverbed
due to the
continuous floods the city suffered.
The old
riverbed is now a beautiful nine-kilometre-long garden,
that crosses
the city from west to east.
Along its
sides are museums, sports facilities,
and
playgrounds.
There are 18
bridges that cross over the space.
If you cross
the Puente de las
Flores, you arrive at
the Pla del Real district
where you’ll
find several buildings that were built
for the 1909
Valencian Regional Exhibition.
The City of
Arts and Sciences is also located in this district,
and opposite
it is the renovated Fallas Museum.
