Regional Tourism Office (Amestoy Park) Icono google maps

The Amestoy Park is where the Regional Tourism Office is located, an almost obligatory stop for all those who visit the city for the first time and want to obtain detailed and updated information on the most emblematic places to visit, as well as the activities and events that they will take place during your stay.

The old park underwent a profound reform that ended in 2011, although several works were subsequently undertaken to remove architectural barriers, including the replacement of part of the cobblestone pavement and the construction of a ramp.

It is one of the busiest areas of Castro-Urdiales, which is why in early 2020 it was chosen as the location to install large letters with the name of the city. Located on the maritime edge of the park, they were designed in green and white as these are the colors of the military flag.

The maritime front allows you to appreciate the magnificent modernist facades of several of the buildings on Avenida de la Constitución, which have the most characteristic element of the glass lookouts, a very common image in the cities of the Cantabrian Sea, and among which the house of the Salvarrey family, whose project was designed by Achúcarro and directed by Leonardo Rucabado as master builder.

In the first photo we see the Castro Urdiales sign. In the second photo we see one of the facades that surrounds Amestoy Park.
