The Bilbao City Council, with an eclectic style, has the category of Asset of Cultural Interest. Inaugurated in 1892, it is the work of the municipal architect Joaquín Rucoba. Inside, three carefully decorated rooms stand out. The reception hall, the plenary hall and the lobby. The first of them, called the Arab Room, is the real gem of the building. Another detail that deserves your attention is the mast with the Bilbao flag: white with a red checkerboard.

You can also see the work of the renowned Basque sculptor, Jorge Oteiza called “Ovoid Variation of the unemployment of the sphere”.

* In three images, we can see the front façade of the Bilbao City Council, as well as an illustration and another photo of the surroundings next to the estuary.

Bilbao City Council allows you to visit the main rooms of the building in the company of a guide. You can check its availability through its website https://www.bilbao.eus/aytoonline
